[ENG] Investment Webinar with Livin’ by Mandiri „Young with Big Goals, How Financial Planning Helps”

Germany, August 3, 2024 – Association of Indonesian Students in Germany (PPI Jerman) 2023/24 in cooperation with PT Bank Mandiri has successfully held an informative webinar with the title “Young with Big Goals, How Financial Planning Helps” via Zoom on Saturday, 3rd August 2024, from 10:05 until 11:45 CEST (15:05-16:45 WIB). Moderated by Iqlima Khayra Mumtazya and Aristo Kevin as staff members of Partnership and Entrepreneurship of AIS in Germany, this webinar was resourced by Pratomo Kendarto. He holds a position as Head of Department of Wealth Management Group at Bank Mandiri.

This webinar was held to give financial education towards Indonesian diaspora abroad, particularly in Germany, and to inform them about Livin’ by Mandiri application software. This application enables clients to make an investment in various financial instruments, such as bonds, government bonds, equities, and mutual funds, to save in foreign currencies as well as making transactions in various foreign currencies to foreign account. Through this webinar, it is hoped that participants become well aware of the importance of financial planning and of optimally using Livin’ by Mandiri software application.

The webinar consisted of three sessions. The first session was material giving session on importance of financial planning that was resourced by Pratomo Kendarto. He emphasized importance of keeping tracks of income and expenditure, of being disciplined towards expenditure plan that has been made, of building emergency fund, of identifying each own risk profile, and of choosing financial instruments that are in line with each own risk profile. This session was followed by question-and-answer session, in which participants were given opportunities to asks resource about financial planning. Before going to the next session, there was also a group photo session for documentation purpose.

Webinar was concluded with explanation about Super App Livin’ by Mandiri which was resourced by Sobandi Wiguna from Bank Mandiri. Currently, Livin’ by Mandiri can be used by clients using local country mobile phone number in more than 120 countries, including Germany. Livin’ by Mandiri can help with the financial transaction needs of students who are continuing their studies in Germany with complete features. Clients can manage their money in both Rupiah currency and foreign currencies even though they are residing abroad. Students in Germany may open accounts in Euro currency and others by opening a Multicurrency account, so that payments in Germany can be made just by tapping using Livin’ by Mandiri and/or Bank Mandiri’s Tap to Pay Visa debit card. There is also a feature of foreign exchange transfer that can be accessed by clients 24/7, so transfers to bank accounts in Germany with Euros can be done directly from Livin’ by Mandiri.

The webinar participants consisted of 31 people from various cities in Germany and from outside Germany. Participants were well-behaved during presentation and showed enthusiasm while question-and-answer session was taking place.

Through information as well as answers provided by resource person, each participant is expected to be more careful in planning and spending their money and be able to open a Livin’ by Mandiri account for that purpose.
